Mount Etna excursion

Mount Etna excursion (Saturday 26th, pick up at 12:30 ; drop off at 19:30) :

During your stay in Catania, don't miss the opportunity to make an excursion to the Etna; to feel her power and enjoy her beauty.

The first stop of our trip will be a visit to a small vineyard on the slope of the volcano. Volcanic soils are so fertile that people have time and time again chosen to take the risk of living close to danger because they can get such big harvests. On Mount Etna, you will find lots of varieties of plants and fruits, like apples, pistachios, and grapes.

We'll spend some time in one of the many "cantine" (wine producers) and taste their wine while enjoying a typical outdoor Sicilian lunch, with Mount Etna providing a nice background.

After lunch, we'll show you one of the Etna’s peculiarities : its many caves.

Last but not least, we'll take you up to 1900m to see the results of the 2001 and 2002/2003 eruptions, and the big craters of the 1892 eruption. The view is truly fascinating. The damps coming from the craters provide tactile evidence that the volcano is still active. Our guides are happy to answer any questions.

The cost of this excursion is 70€. (Get 10€ discount by booking before June 11st)

Price includes: Transport, lunch, and excursion guides (languages spoken English, Italian, French and Spanish).

Difficulty : Easy, no need of special equipments. You only need a sweater and windjacket, and good walking shoes
